I began this web site as a simple travelogue of Indonesia, the story of an American tourist seeking paradise in the South Pacific Islands. The original web pages were just that: a story of my first two month trip to Indonesia, February and March of the year 2000. I returned from Indonesia my head filled with fond memories and my heart happy to be home but sad to be away from a such a special place.
I could not have known then what an impact this amazing country would have on my life. Since that original trip, I purchased some land, built a house, and now have adopted this Island of Lombok as my new home. If this abrupt change from the usual "All-American Lifestyle" seems radical, the change in my outlook on life has also undergone a radical change.
And so, from a simple travelogue, this web page has progressed to the story of an ordinary American man, steeped in Western traditions, was shown a new perspective of the world. I invite you to join me now by taking a look at the world from a different point of view - you may find your definitions of "normal" and "unusual" will never be the same again. However, I hold no grudge against anyone who thinks I am totally crazy - for this may also be the truth.
